This publicly tendered project is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities. Apart from the detox facilities, the building also supports offices, a central courtyard and public meeting spaces. The alternative facility will bring together a number of alcohol and drug programs in the Yukon.

The main added facilities include transition units, youth detox, family units and shared support spaces. This design was created through a collaborative process with the Government of Yukon Roads and Public Works Division and the Alcohol and Drug Services Division.

The process also involved key stakeholders and user groups whose input influenced design elements such as the cultural sensitivities of First Nations, thereby minimizing the institutional atmosphere and reinforcing the links with outdoor spaces.
