YC Innovation Commons

The College sought to transform its existing library into an innovative and collaborative space for teaching and learning. We helped the College identify the type of space they would need, search for existing areas, made presentations and design charettes for and with various user groups.

During the design phase, we encouraged participants to develop concept maps based on the preliminary functional program developed at the beginning of the project. The information collected during these various meetings was compiled into a feasibility study report that included three possible development options, as well as their concept sketches, timelines and costs.

A detailed functional program was also included in this report. Funding was provided for the construction and the project was completed in August 2017.
