Thibodeau Architecture + Design (Vancouver location) is looking for a full-time Architectural Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of Canadian experience in an interior design and/or architectural office.

Our stimulating team specialises in workspaces, institutional, asset maintenance, and renovation (commercial) projects across Canada. We have designed workspaces for clients such as McKesson, Bell Canada, Shaw Communications, and many others. We have completed rollouts for Lululemon and Nespresso and currently, we are completing our first Carbon Neutral Net Zero Project for the Government of BC. 

We are looking for a highly collaborative person with impeccable work ethics and a strong willingness to learn to join us in our daily endeavours.

Qualifications:

• High proficiency in Revit and AutoCad
• Production of construction documents, including specifications
• Knowledge & strong navigation of the VBBL, NBCC and BCBC
• Practical knowledge of construction (steel, wood-frame, etc.) & strong ability to detail various building components
• Experience in conducting site reviews, inspections, and providing field reports
• High proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook (used daily)
• Knowledge of MS Project is an asset
• Knowledge of building envelope assemblies
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (French is an asset)
• Architectural Technologist Diploma and AIBC affiliation are an asset

In your role you will be:

• Producing full sets of drawings and documentation
• Coordinating between clients, contractors, and consultants
• Performing site visits to check on construction progress and providing field reports
• Carrying out feasibility studies and risk assessments
• Analysing architectural plans and specifications, highlighting possible risks or problems
• Preparing documentation to assist with planning permission and similar approvals
• Learning, growing, and developing professionally with the support of your peers within the firm.

• Knowledge of the VBBL, NBCC and BCBC
• Basic knowledge of building envelope principles

In your role you will be:

• Developing the architectural design model for various projects
• Coordinating the model with the other disciplines involved in the projects
• Coordinating between TAD’s design team, clients, and consultants
• Overseeing production
• Training or upskilling colleagues in specific software programmes
• Generating templates and standards for projects  
• Analysing architectural plans and drawings, highlighting any possible risks or problems, and making amendments using REVIT
• Preparing documentation to assist with planning permission and similar approvals.
