Ministry of Children and Family Development

Location: West Kelowna, BC

The Government of British Columbia retained TAD to design an open collaborative workspace utilising their recently developed Leading Workplace Strategies. This 6,500sf space located in West Kelowna was developed for the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The space was to be welcoming and colourful for children as well as secure to efficiently deliver the services the Ministry provides

The overall space was divided between a publicly accessible portion and a secure, private portion. The public portion includes a waiting room, multiple interview rooms, a family room and a secure interview room. The secure portion includes huddle rooms, privacy rooms, quiet rooms, a break room and a chat room. These spaces were designed to encourage collaboration and allow for different work styles. Mobile and resident staff are both accommodated in this open space.

TAD proposed materials that were not typically used in public workspaces and developed a unique graphic design to ties the materials and the space into a cohesive space.
