In 2007, TAD was mandated, in collaboration with Guy Architects, by SNC Lavalin to build an integrated newsroom and an extension to the East roof for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Yellowknife.  The extension was required to accommodate more staff, and the second floor of the existing building had to be modified and expanded to welcome a combined newsroom, private offices and a meeting area. TAD was charged with reviewing existing documents to study the feasibility of the expansion, submitting preliminary designs and a potential overall cost, assessing all architectural, code and safety requirements and analyzing whether existing elements, like furniture and finishes, could be incorporated into the new design to reduce costs and promote sustainable design practices.
