McGill University – Montreal, Quebec

MacDonald Engineering Building – Window Replacement

McGill's MacDonald Engineering Building sits to the east of this Ivy Leage downtown campus. Dated in the early part of the 20th Century, its windows and doors were in significant need to be replaced or refurbished.

Careful design investigation resulted in detailing an appropriate window replacement strategy that would pass both the university's architectural review committee as well as the municipality's and province's heritage committees.

The result is a building that has kept its heritage look while inheriting a contemporary window system that reduces heat loss as well as cold drafts often associated with older buildings.
