AltaLink & SNC-Lavalin
Calgary, Alberta
Nexacor provides project management services to national companies like Bell Canada. It was only natural that as part of SNC-Lavalin's stable of service providers, it would undertake its own construction project.
AltaLink had just been created as a spin-off of Alberta Power to oversee power distribution in the province and by the same token, SNC-Lavalin as one of the important shareholders in this new private venture folded the engineering group into a new subsidiary. These two enterprises relocated from the head office to a six storey building that required extensive renovation. The program called for Uniterrupted Power Supply to insure 100% post-disaster reliability to manage the province's electrical grid as well as a 'War Room' to deal with emergencies. Otherwise, the challenge was to meet a tight deadline and budget to insure the move of over 300 people in fully renovated premises with new furniture systems.
Thibodeau was called to provide local support and collaborated with Nexacor's management in this endeavour. Duties included coordinating local consultants, contractor and attend to clients' needs.
