Air Canada Base, Dorval (Quebec)

Air Canada consolidated its computer operations under one roof which required substantial upgrades to the existing building including:

• A new reception area for outside users,
• Administrative and executive offices,
• A Training Centre and ancillary services for a hundred people,
• The replacement of hydraulic elevators for cable operated elevators.
• The elevator cabins’ interior design which required
• The construction of a rooftop elevator mechanical room.

Construction took place while the building remained in operation. The major challenges included the removal of asbestos, the computer equipment’s high sensitivity to vibrations and matching the exterior finishes to the existing.
